A review for my little Toyota Yaris 1.0 VVT-i
The Toyota Yaris fit the bill for what I wanted from a car. I am not an expert on car techno stuff but can tell you how I feel about it as a female owner/driver.
This car, importantly, is reliable apart from the usual gripes that all cars begin to get as they get older, this is a 54 reg and still looks in very good shape. Still pretty shiny and I haven't noticed any rust - Toyota said that if any rust appears in certain locations it is guaranteed for life but up to now I see nothing.
The Yaris is pretty economical given the current fuel prices, when petrol was lower it was very economical, now £20 gets me about half a tank where it used to get me more than three quarters.
This little car is great for small town journeys, it is very easy to park and I have good visibility out of the rear window, all around is good visibility.
The car has really surprised me, it is pretty nippy and especially uphills! I am very impressed really. It is just right for me and handles busy roundabouts very well, I feel safe and reassured that the car will respond with good speed when I want it to. Always a good thing with a busy roundabout.
The car is small so pretty easy to keep clean on outside and inside. The tyres are not too expensive to replace and the insurance and road tax are in the lower category too, which is a great bonus for me.
The car reminds me of a tardis inside, because from the outside it looks like a small car but everyone comments when they sit inside in the passenger seat about how much room there actually is compared to other small cars.
The gear box is okay, I don't find it as easy as a Ford gearbox but it certainly isn't one of the most tricky that I have tried. It is okay, all is smooth apart from the reverse sometimes is difficult to get in.
Steering is power assisted so need I say more...small car...power steering...much easier parking! hooray!
The speedometre is digital and the dashboard has plastic dials etc for heat and cool air, fans and demister etc...pretty basic but all that you need really and easy to use. There is a radio in this model but no CD player.
This model has manual locking and windows. I just have to keep remembering to lock the doors and boot...I can forget easily! Oops.
I don't think there is anything else to say really. The Yaris is a great, little car, pretty economical, pretty nippy and fun to drive.
I am very happy with it.
Thanks for reading.
Summary: A fun drive
