Advantages: Solid, safe, cheap to run

Disadvantages: Not the quickest...

Have had the Astra 12 months, purchased from Police through a dealer. The car seems extremely reliable, the engine is excellent. The general feel of the car is very solid, and the interior is good quality. The car recieved a 4-star safety rating which was one of the main reasons for purchasing.
Problems: the engine management light pops on sometimes, but without any actual problem being present... the main interior light only comes on occasionally
Apart from this I have had no problems at all. I bought the car with 83,000 on the clock and serviced it at about 93,000. The car has now covered 99,500 miles.

Summary: Good, reliable car. Dependable.

This is a very brief summary. You really should give much more information.

I had an Astra Diesel once and the engine light kept coming on on that too. I don't know the technical term for it, but I was told that the engine has several different stages it runs at, and when the light comes on, it's usually just because it's switching from one stage to another.

For a review on an expensive item like this, I would need to know a lot more from someone like you that has used it.
