I had the unfortunate opportunity to drive one of these as a hire car last week. I have looked at them before and thought...mmmm not a bad looking car from the outside. So there it was, the silver machine waiting for me in the sun (unusual I know) when I got home from work. So i get the keys and the first thing u notice is the handle on the key is almost as big as the key ring for your room when you go on holiday. Why, because it has two rectangle buttons to lock and unlock the car. Just be careful about carrying this in your trouser pocket or you may get arrested for indecency. The Vauxhall Astra is without doubt the worst car I have driven. I currently own an S registered 1.4 LS 16v. From the outside it is a quite attractive car with smooth lines and a chunky look to it. Venture inside and you will find a well thought out, spacious interior. The build quality is fine and the knobs and buttons feel like they are in the right place. Now onto the important bit, how does it drive? I can not repeat the language I often shout as I am driving to and from work in the thing.
