After about a couple of months the same thing happened again. The garage was unable to identify the problem. I owned this car for 6 months during 2007/08. It was a 2001 Y reg. The interior of the car was comfortable, spacious in the front but a bit crampt in the back. Boot space was great. This engine in my opinion was underpowered for the car and if you were looking to keep your insurance rating down the 1.4i 16v is a better bet. The car ran with no problems whatsoever for 40,000, ...  Read the complete review

I bought one of these Astras in September 1999. When I took delivery of it, it was just under 1 year old. From day one it has been in and out of the garage, problems with the central locking, the boot locked and I couldn't get into it - which, considering the spare wheel is in the boot, was not very handy ! But probably the fault which has manged to annoy me the most to date is the electric windows which appear to have a mind of your own !! Funny, because when I was looking to purchase this car no-one actually told me that the voltage drop in the vehicle would affect the windows. All in all it's turned out in my opinion, to be a ...  Read the complete review
