Advantages: A good first car.

Disadvantages: Like drinking fuel when driven hard.

When I first passed by license I bought a 1.3S Astra.

I thought it was fantastic. It looked good, sounded good, and felt good to drive. At the traffic lights it was off like the clappers, flying along.

It wasn't too bad up the motorway either, the only problem was that it only had 4 gears, which meant that it liked to use petrol as if it was free.

The reason why I got rid of mine in the end was because it was going through about 5 litres of oil a month, not nice.

I think these cars are great but there are more and more ending up in the scrap yard these days, it's a shame.
