I owned this car for 2 1/2 years (Y '01 reg) bought from Network Q. It was a good choice for my family as its very spacious and the boot is large enough for a pushchair and a lot more. The 1.6 SXi model is definitely the more affordable and sensible mode to go for. The insurance is only group 5 and the car still has the sporty looks. Add a spoiler if possible. The car has 98bhp which doesnt sound like much for a big family car but the car does pull quite well. It also delivers around 35-38 mpg which isnt bad. The equipment on this model is average with the following as standard : 1.Electric front ... Read the complete review

The very first car I bought was a Vauxhall Astra 1.6 SRi. I have now owned this car for 18 months and would like to let you all in on a little secret ? it is fantastic! Initially I had reservations about buying a Vauxhall as I had heard they were unreliable and badly built, however after a test drive in both the new Corsa and the Astra I decided that at least the build quality was not true. Both cars felt very well screwed together, no rattles, squeaks or groans. The interiors were made from top quality plastic that looks just that. Not like some of these new cars that roll off the production lines, not mentioning any names, some just look like they?ve been made ... Read the complete review

Vauxhall a name that in the past has not inspired especially with the Vecra disaster. How can a car manufacture promote a new model with over 1000 changes for the better, what does that say about the original? But now I am an owner, not of a Vectra but of a rather nice black SXi. It is simply fantastic. It has all the toys, it has a great engine and it looks great inside and out. On the outside the car has low profile tyres with some great looking alloys. It also has a lower sportyer body trim and for all those boy racers out there it has front fog lighs. On the inside the sports seats are very comfortable with plenty of lumbar support for long journeys. It has very cool ... Read the complete review

A car fit for all types of driving, but what I enjoy most is the 'fun' you would normally expect from an expensive sports car, in this affordable family car from a reliable manufacturer. Before I get onto the drive, let's start with the exterior - well defined as an Astra, brought up to present day styling. The negatives are a)the lip of tailgate & bumper harbours dirt if you're lazy & use Auto Car Washes; b)for the same reason, the nice countours around the wheel-arches. These 2 points are not good on the white model - trust me. Engine - nice touch with the exterior bonnet release that appears through the grill, so no more grease on ... Read the complete review
