Looks:
Looks wise the astra van has come on a long way from the previous model, as in the past the astra van is pretty much the same as the astra estate. Not like any normal van it is lower to the ground which is benifical if you work in city centres and have to use multi storey carparks as the height restrictions can be limited for alot of vans especially when carrying ladders which like myself and a lot of electricians/service engineers do. Alloy wheels and spoilers are on the more sportier versions but the basic models come with body colourred bumpers and door bump guards. Interior looks are very good, very similar to the larger model, the Vauxhall Vectra, which gives the feeling of driving a larger car rather than the usual upright sitting position you get from most other vans. The dashboard is set out more streamlined than previously and the clocks and radio are set out very simple and easy to read, one item that does dissapoint me is the time and radio display which is basically the same as it was 10 years ago. Standard features include cd player, cenral locking, adjustale steering column, electric windows and height adjustment on driversd seat, air conditioning is an optional extra and a must along with bluetooth, parking sensors, cruise control, sat nav and many more

Performance,
The model i am reviewing is the 1.7cdti, the turbo diessel engine is and always has been quick and reliable. As quick as it is you can still get around 400 miles from a 45l tank but with added weight and ladders will take you down to around 350 miles a tank and currently runs at 14 pence per mile. Other models available are 1.4 16v, 1.9cdti and also a 1.3cdti which i have also driven but as an estate car, the 1.3cdtio engine is a great idea but i wouldn't advise this engine if you tend to carry a lot of equipment and ladders as it really effects the performance and can cause engine problems. Transmitions come in 6 and 5 speed and automatic.

Space
The rear cabin area is adequate for carrying tools and boxes but limited if you carry larger items. This really depends on what trade you are in and what you are going to carry. As a security service engineer i find it perfect for my job.

On the whole, this time, Vauxhall have done brilliant and i just hope they manage to keep up the good work in the future.

Summary: Keep up the good work vauxhall
