Advantages: A Great Car

Disadvantages: It Should Never Have Been Replaced By The Vectra

My first Vauxhall car was an Astra 1.6 Sport H reg (1991). Before this I have never had a Vauxhall, but right from the start I knew it was a great car.

I have had 2 Cavaliers. My first one was a 1.8L Saloon and my second was a 1.8GL.

I love the Cavalier, it is a great car. Even the basic models are equipped, not just on the Cavalier but on the whole range.

The Cavalier is a great handling car and very comfortable. The engines are responsive and powerful.

The range starts from the 1.4 up to 2.0 16v including 1.7 Diesel and Turbo Diesel.

It has been the nations favourite and one of the best selling cars in it's class for many years.

The cost of running a Vauxhall is low compared to cars like Fiats, Peugeots etc. The cost of spare parts is excellent. Front Brake Pads cost around £7.99. A friend bought pads for his Fiat Tipo and they were more than double the price.

Both my Cavaliers had done over 120,000 miles, but the engines were still in good condition (no tapping from the hydraulic tappets or blue smoke on startup).

I once had an H reg Ford Fiesta XR2I with only 74,000 on the clock and it used to smoke blue on startup.

I would definitly recommend a Vauxhall car to anyone. A lot of my friends were always raving about Peugeot 205 GTIS and Volkswagen Golf GTIS. When they tried to persuade me to get one of these cars I laughed and told them to get a decent car( like a Vauxhall).

When I go looking for other cars if it doesn't have a Vauxhall badge on it I am not interested in it.

There is a Vauxhall car in some form or shape for everyone. If there isn't you must have a problem.

100% best car on the road!

I have a cavalier 1.8ls at the moment and love it. Alright things have gone wrong with it in the past but nothing too bad and it is fairly cheap to put right unless you go to Network Q.
