Advantages: Comfortable, reliable
Disadvantages: NOT COOL
I got a car for free. This is an important fact, because it colours my opinion of the Cavalier Expression 1.6 immensely. If I had been made to PAY for this vehicle, I would probably be less fond of it, but, my generous loner uncle had run it in to the ground and couldn't get a decent trade in, so he gave it to me. It's my first car, after four years of driving Clios and Fiestas owned by my mother, and I have to admit that I love my Cavalier. It's not very fast, it steers like a waterbed on a trolley and it's just NOT COOL. But, it has done nearly 140,000 miles in eight years and the engine is still as smooth as the underbelly of a kitten. Sure, the annual MOT / service is costing me £400 every summer, and rising every year, but that's to be expected. If you can pick up an Expression for about a grand with a service history and decent paintwork, you won't be disappointed. Just don't expect Skyline performance.

- 11/09/00 If you don't like it, mate... sell it and buy you're own car. You can't really talk about Skyline performance either - hardly realistic now, is it?
You got it for free. Lucky you... ;) |
