Advantages: Seem to care at first, they are not hiding it, they contacted the customer asap

Disadvantages: cant book in to fin the fault, Bedford and Wolverhampton area's are fully booked

Hello there. My sister has a red Vaxuhall Corsa 1.4i SRi. Right she recently recived a letter from Vauxhall's head office stating that her car could possibly be one of which have a problem with the drivers seat rail. Well at first she felt that it was great customer service that Vauxhall intended to fix this fault free of charge rather than brush it up under the mat. Anyway she went to book a check up localy and she was told that the next free slot was in September but she dident really mind at this point. She contacted the Vauxhall dealer where she lives for university and was old the same that they were fully booked unitll September too. Now that I have taught about it I was begining to wounder if Vauxhall really do care, i mean its nice of them to send that letter but not if they cant book untill September yet they can book in MOT's and Serivces in less than a week!

Well do they really care?

Having said this Vauxhall is still a really good busniess and we have had no problem with the car at all! and also i live close to Luton and i wanna back it up with not closing the Vectra production line at Luton

The seat rail problem isn't really a problem, as such. More of a concern, so this wasn't a 'prority' recall for Vauxhall. In the past, when recalls were more important (e.g. the airbag deployment fault on the Vectra), checks were carried out by the dealerships as soon as you brought your car to them. As this is not such a problem, and they do not expect to find any faulty seat rails, they are not making any real effort to get the cars booked in for the check up. Alan

sounds a little tough on the owners. Wonder what they'll do compensation wise. Oh well, good op. Steve.
