So far we have owned 4 of these cars now and they we have always found them to be great, the x16xe engine that they have are very responsive and have a lot to offer, it is a very reliable car and from our own experience they are very cheap to repair when things go wrong.
Although these cars are now getting old they still have some great extra features that come as standard such as; electric windows, power steering, central locking, air conditioning, electric mirrors and ABS. As they are becoming older, they are now available at a cheaper price and you get a lot of car for your money.
The engine produces 106 bhp from the factory and will do 0-60 in roughly 8.5 seconds which even today isn't slow. One of the most common faults on the Corsa sport models is that they rust easily around the rear wiper hole, on the bonnet, and bottoms of the front doors. I think they have been very popular with the "boy racer " scene for many years now because of their sporty look and i imagine that they will probably become a classic.
The brakes on this car are good and are more than capable of stopping rapidly if needs be, the car is also very good on fuel particularly on long journeys averaging about 40 miles to the gallon. The Corsa Sport that i've owned that has been the oldest had 130,000 miles on the clock and it still ran nicely with very minor problems, so these cars certainly have a long shelf life!
I would have to say however, that the insurance for this car is probably higher than you would think. It falls into the old insurance group 10 which surprised me, perhaps it's because of the reputation they have thanks to the "boy racers" who often drive this kind of car.
I would reccomend this litte car to anyone wishing to buy a cheap and cheerful car!
