Advantages: BMW Ride for a fraction of the price

Disadvantages: Poor quality fake wood finish.

I've had a P-reg 2.5V6 CDX Omega for nearly three years and by now I would normally be looking around for a replacement car. However, this car is so good and enjoyable to drive that I'll keep it for at least another year provided that it behaves itself.

Faults have been few and far between and have been fixed by the Vauxhall West End quickly. They will either collect and return the car or provide a courtesy vehicle.

Acceleration is excellent, the auto-box never misses a beat or finds itself in the wrong gear. Brakes are a bit soft but given a good push will stop the car in plenty of time.

Petrol consumption around town is poor due the large engine and the fact that the air conditioning compressor is running all the time as part of the climate control system.

The only criticisms are that the ride is somewhat soft at slow speed, the quality of the finish is average and the headlights don't illuminate the road effectively. It also seems to eat tyres.

The new shape is a lot more bland and less interesting that the original both inside and out.

Second hand values now offer exceptional value for money.
