The Vauxhall Omega was introduced in 1994, replacing both the Vauxhall Carlton and Vauxhall Senator. It is an executive size car, with rear wheel drive. Features a variety of trim levels, originally starting with Select. Then came GLS, CD, CDX, and the range topping Elite. Also introduced were the MV6 model and the Tourer (Estate only). All models had a reputation for comfort, spaciousness and quality to at least match the so called 'prestige' brands.
I have owned my Omega 2.5 V6 CDX Estate for 7 years, and have to say it is a thoroughly great car. It is very spacious, with a cavernous boot, especially with seats folded down (which is extremely easy, plus the whole boot floor up to the two front seats is completely flat). Even the front passenger seat folds down.
It is also really comfortable on any journey, no matter how far you travel you arrive feeling relaxed. The V6 engine is silky smooth.
My car is also converted to run on LPG, which makes the running costs very low for a car of this size.
Build quality is also excellent, with immaculate paintwork, and everything still working as it should. The car is now 12 years old, but still feels as solid as if it were new.
Overall, I would recommend the Vauxhall Omega to anyone. It is a superb car. It is better, in my opinion, than all of the 'premium' brands.
