Advantages: stylish, sleek

Disadvantages: small back seats

I have owned a vauxhall Tigra for about 2 years now and I love it. It's really stylish and sleek and runs like a dream!

My own Tigra is a 1997 model - a P Reg and so far (touch wood) I haven't had any probelms at all with it, it's the first car I've owned that actually passed its MOT first time!!

The car itself is very distinctive with smooth, sleek body work. The particular model that I own has electric sunroof, mirrors, heated window and wing mirrors.

The interior is very rounded and continues the style of the exterior with faux leather dashboard and moulded seats. There's plenty of leg room in the front and the seats are really comfortable. Unfortunately, the back seats are a different story!! Although the car is advertised as having 4 seats, it only really seats 2 adults and possibly 2 small children comfortably! It's quite amusing to stick a tall friend in the back seat and drive over bumps really quickly though - if you're that way inclined!?! The back seats are apparently called 'bucket seats' which are basically plastic with a little bit of padding for your bum. If you are over 5ft tall your head will end up inside the glass door of the hatchback - not very nice!

The storage space in the hatchback is quite reasonable, you could fit a set of golf clubs quite easily or a big supermarket shop. If you need to transport larger items the back seat can be dropped forward to accommodate.

Mileage wise - I usually get about 105 miles out of ten pounds worth of petrol - which isn't bad at all! Obviously, if you drive really quickly (I'm a good girl) then you would use a lot more petrol.

Unfortunately, this opinion is basically for those people who are only interested in the 'nice' bits, I don't have a clue or any interest in the engine (although it does have a nice shiny silver thing in it!)or anything else mechanical!

If you're after a car that
runs well and looks good and seems to keep its value well, then this is the car for you. Expect to pay about 5995.00 for a 1997 model that's in good condition. Personally I would reccommend a black one!!

An enjoyable op to read. I will always be a Vauxhall fan and have never been let down by one.

OK for girley-whirlies, I suppose (lol) ... but why not buy a decent Corsa, and have the 5 doors and more rooom, cheaper to insure ....

I must admit they hold their value though.
