      Advantages

      Disadvantages

Due to lack of funds I purchased a N reg Vectra 1.8 LS (about the oldest you can get) in Late Jan 2000. It had 86000 miles on the clock, now has 92000. It has been nothing but trouble with various parts failing. Although some are covered by warantee, I have to take the car in - make my way back to work (by bus 30 mins + 40 mins walking or taxi) - drop back to collect (same journey times). Others come out of my pocket (around £500 so far). Next time I am going to find the money somewhere and get the one I want. There was a nice P reg automatic 1.8 GLS with 50000 on the clock just a mile from the office - why did I not find the extra £3000 for that one???? As most of my journeys are 5 to 10 miles each way, my next car may be a new shape 1.6 Astra. I can quite see GMs point about the Vectra. Although it is a very nice car, people like myself are now wanting smaller 1.6 Astras rather than 1.8/2.0 Vectras. Men ..... why do we drive such big cars???? PS - I really want the 2.5 SRi ........
