Advantages: Great looks, comfort, and handling
Disadvantages: Not much space in the back
I have had my beetle now for 2 months and I LOVE it! I was never a huge Beetle fan, however after realising that my budget wouldn't stretch to a Mini with everything on my wish list (Air Con, sunroof, leather seats), I began to look around.
I can honestly say I am SO glad I didn't get a Mini. The Beetle is a real attention grabbing car, and I love everything about it. On the inside, everything is rounded and feels funky and retro, even the edges of the stereo are curved. I love the flower on the dash, and the big VW badge in the middle of my steering wheel. It's hard to get used to how far from the windscreen you are at first, but I've come to love it, although the giant dash needs dusting all the time so not great if you're a bit lazy with these things. Admittedly there's not much space for adults in the back, but my son is more than comfortable in his car seat in the back. The boot is shallow, but is big enough to accomodate a weekly shop or my son's buggy (Mama and Papas Ora).
I love everything about the exterior looks too, the curvy shape of the body just oozes cuteness! I love the positioning of the petrol cap on the car's "bum", and the honeycomb grill at the front, which gives the car an edge of "mean".
The car is a respectable 120bhp, however car tax isnt cheap (£120 for 6 months), and fuel consumption is high, I usually average 33mpg.
I have had 5 cars in 4 years of driving, and usually get bored easily, however I can honestly say I'll be more than happy keeping this car for the next few years.
Summary: My favourite car to date!
