Hi there i stubbled across these reviews and thourght id leave my own. I have had vw golfs since i first started driving over ten years ago, i started off with the clasic mk1 golf that unfortunately ended in a nasty crash. If i had been driving a modern car i would have been dead. So my love affair with the golf began. I purchased my mk3 2 years ago for 2.800. It is on a P plate and done 60'000 miles. I did loads of research and got myself the 2.8 vr6 model not easy in my area and so chuffed to get it. I have had gti and standard before and they all have exceptional build quality and relaibility. The feel you get driving the golf is excellent you feel safe and know that no matter what your car will get you home. I am really poor for looking after my cars its not that i dont know what to do more like lazyness. I very regulary do mainantince on them only when it is neccessary. I have had problems with a couple of my golfs one with the injector unit and another with the water pump. But in both cases the car would still keep going all be it a little bit worse for ware. They are nice cars to work on when you finally do need to some repairs and the parts are not overly expensive. I have had other cars but always as well as a golf. I have had a couple of fords and and mr2 mk2 and have got a vaxuall as well at the moment. For safety and relability and generall fun to drive always pick up the keys to my golf. I have not driven any of the new golfs as i am not that keen on the look of them, i was dissapointed when i drove the mk4 so this has put me off the more modern models.
