I owned a Golf 1.4cl Mark 111 (1992 model) for 5 years. It was by far the best car I have had. It was built like a brick and easy to drive even though there was no power steering, I felt very safe in it. It never needed any major work on it, in fact I think all it ever required were new tyres! I sold it with 160k on the clock and it still ran like new. Always started beautifully and the heating warmed up immediately. A friend has a golf that how now done over 240k and is still running sweet.
