I owned a Golf 1.4cl Mark 111 (1992 model) for 5 years. It was by far the best car I have had. It was built like a brick and easy to drive even though there was no power steering, I felt very safe in it. It never needed any major work on it, in fact I think all it ever required were new tyres! I sold it with 160k on the clock and it still ran like ...

This is a letter from a work colleague to VW after being sold a car from a dealer in Hertfordshire. Its quite long !!!!!! It started when in the second week of July I visited the dealership to view the vehicles on the forecourt It was VW?s outstanding worldwide reputation for Safety & Quality that led me to choose a Volkswagen for ...

I have driven a 1.4 CL for over 2 years and now own a 1.8 GL. If you are looking for performance and extras you are going to have to buy something other than the base model, however everything you get is well designed and well built. The car is well balanced and very sturdy. If you can afford the insurance I highly recommend the GTI and the ...

A couple of weeks ago I bought a golf for £1350. It is a 1600, F-reg. Here’s my review on it. It’s a very boxy looking car and I wouldn’t put it too high in the looks chart but with a little bit of work you can soon sort that out, by putting big bumpers on it and all the trim. The dash is very well laid out and you ...

Bought new, because of VW's reputation, it turned out to be the worst car I've ever had. The accommodation was average, the performance was sluggish, although it managed to average 39mpg. The spec. was poor, it was so low the front spoiler often grounded, servicing costs were astronomical - even the cost of spares for d-i-y was ...
