Advantages: Low insurnace bracket, smooth drive, VW quality...
Disadvantages: no mp3 input cable
Looking for a car when I was learning to drive the main criteria was that it be a nippy little car that would keep insuance low, look good and not burn through petrol.
The VW Polo fulfilled all the specs and more, Vw have a reputation for well made cars that look good and keep their price. Even though it s only a 1.2 the car is quick to accelerate and handles brilliantly. A smooth ride its great fun to whizz round country lanes as much as on motorways and in 5 years I have not had a single problem, despite daily use and long frequent long journeys. The interior is spacious and comfortably seats 5 on long journeys or 4 with a lot of luggage, including skiis on many occasions.
A good quality stereo as standard is another great feature, and the blue and red lighting insude the car are attractive and pleasant to drive in.
The engine is smooth and reliable and uses fuel very efficiently, with the 40lr tank not costing too much to fill.
One of the major selling points was that the car kept insurance lower than other similar ones and has been a massive bonus for a cash poor student.
Boot space is astonishingly ample and with the seats folded down the car can transport far more than you would expect of any small car.
I didn't get electric windows initially but had them fitted after, as they turned out to be a feature \i wished i had spent a little extra on initially.
A great little car, good fun to drive and looks good even after a few years.
Summary: great fun, lots of space inside, as nice for the passengers as the driver
