We brought our 1997 1.4 petrol polo from a salvage yard over 10 years ago with little damage. Its been repaired and made road legal and has been running non stop since. The only time i had a problem with it was last winter when the RAC man explained to me that it the battery installed by another person had been the wrong type. It was a battery fit ...  Read the complete review

This is a great little run around. It is my first car, but ill be sticking with VW's. I own a 1.6 which is brilliant. The car has definatly got more than enough power. It looks quite small from the outside but can easily fit 4 people in (i have the 5 door model). Its a great looking car as well. Not many cars are able to look good after 10 or so ...  Read the complete review

I brought my 1st VW polo about 3 years ago P reg, I had an accident in it about 2 years ago and unfortunately wrote it off, someone pulled out infront of me at about 50 mph and I crashed into the back of them, the only reason the car was a right off was because they had a tow bar and managed to break the radiator and air con, on the plus side I ...  Read the complete review

I have had a VW Polo for a number of years and have found them to be pricey! Havent had a great experience with my one, and whilst i bought it for top dollar from a main dealer (for the sort of prices you can now buy a NEW car!), it has had lots of issues including usual exhausts etc, the worst bit was the timing belt going and taking ...  Read the complete review

I love the old golf polo. It was my second car, priced at a reasonable £4000 back in 1998. Its a small car, but you can fit alot into it, it has a good passenger space, and the boot can hold alot of luggage. The interior on my car was a dark black fabric, and i have to say looked brilliant. The car rarely looked dirty and at night had a great ...  Read the complete review

Not a bad car, I own a Green 5 door N reg 1.4 Polo. It's my first car and has convinced me that my next car will be a Polo but newer! It's cheap on insurance and petrol and seemingly very reliable I have only had a few things go wrong with it. The window reg broke, the central locking motor has broken, the wiper motor broke... so basically all the ...  Read the complete review

I am a 21 year old student and this is my third car; a 1 litre, M-Reg VW Polo. Although I have of course only have a comparatively low experience of car ownership I can certainly guarantee that this little motor is a reliable little run-a-round. The car is currently up t0 103,000 miles and in true solid, German, VW style, is showing no sign of ...  Read the complete review

I have the advantage of having grown up with a father who was in the motor trade. So from a reasonable driving age I have been able to drive many different cars. The Polo (98) I bought 2 months ago has been a pleasure. I needed a car and fast after crashing my Fiesta on ice in Dec '01. So using the internet I started my search. I had a few ...  Read the complete review

Although you see WAY too many of them around in my opinion, I love my little Polo. Having had 4 clapped out old bangers nicked in a rather short space of time, I decided early last year that it was time to invest in a decent motor. I was advised by those in the know that a Polo was a cool small car, big enough for me and my kids. NOT cheap ...  Read the complete review

My father is the proud owner of a VW Polo 1.6 litre fuel injected five door saloon. The car is an R reg and is a lovely bright red in colour. The 1.6litre engine which developes about 70 bhp is ideal for around the town with 35-40 mpg and a nice smooth ride. The out of town driving is just as good with 45mpg and enough power in that little 1.6 ...  Read the complete review
