VW Jetta GLS 1.8T (Automatic):
... used to think Jettas were only a "chick" car and not very cool. (Perhaps their image is different in the UK, but I"m from the US) That is until I did my research, had a test spin, and bought a brand new black Jetta 1.8T. VW Bora 1.9 Sport TDI PD 4dr ... had a Bora 1.9TDi Sport (115bhp) model for 18 months, very very fast with lots of grunt but has had intermittent problems with the turbo system resulting in shocking loss of power, three trips to the garage and they still can't find it as the problem sorts it self out when you restart the engine. Quality of finish is excellent and drive quality is very good, engine is sometimes noisy on good starts but thats a diesel for you. VW Passat 1.8 SE 20V auto. Saloon ... want to keep on driving, I do a lot of driving and I never feel stiff when I get out the car holds the road well and looks the part. For my job its important that my car looks upmarket without being over the top and that?s what I have got. Not to mention the excellent fuel economy at 38 miles to the gallon on motorway and 30-32 miles to the gallon in town, or that my insurance is just £1000.
