VW Passat 1.8 S 20V:
... all those singletons and DINKys out there this car is not for you. If I was still in your shoes I would be looking at either a nippy sports car or a hot hatch, and in the dim and distant past have owned both of these. However as the sprogs appear you have the choice of either being very cramped or buying a new car, with an estate, 4WD or MPV being the available options. Since I don’t live on a farm, and ... VW Golf SE Hatchback 1.9SE TDI 5-door 90bhp ... and not tinny, the doors slamming with a clunk and not a clink. The body styling had some nice touches such as the front headlights which were really attractive, and the interior was very well built and classy for a car in this size. People who have sat in an Audi A3, A4 or a VW Passat would have an idea what I am talking about as the Golf interior very much resembles the Passat's. Volkswagen have been accused of skimping on features before but this isn't true anymore. In SE specification, my Golf came with full electric windows, heated mirrors and sunroof, remote central locking with alarm/immobilisor (which is an insurance friendly Thatcham Cat 1 alar... VW Beetle 2.0 3dr ... Many people mis-understand the NB, they see it as a fad, a small car, or poorly appointed but it is none of these things. Built on the tried and trusted MK4 chassis as used by the Golf, VW Bora, Audi A3 and Skoda Octavia it packs a 2 Litre, 115Bhp engine under the shortened bonnet, yes at the front! And delivers smooth consistent pulling power through the standard 16 inch 'Monte Carlo' alloy wheels. It includes as standard, Air Conditioning, ABS Brakes, ESP (Electronic Stability Programme - traction control to you and me), driver and passenger front and side airbags, a category-1 immobiliser, central locking, electric windows, height adjustable fr... VW Beetle in general ... the Bug is back, and better than ever! - There are times in your live, when against your better sense and financial abilities, you suddenly realise that you cannot spend one more day living without a new toy. I experienced this hellish sensation about 1 year ago when I first met the New Beetle. Three days later the car was in my garage, I was blissfully infatuated with it and my bank manager was in tears. Both loved and hated by motoring journalists since it’s first debut a few years ago, this is certainly a car which evokes discussion. Traditionalists have always been divided over the merits of this car. The pricing has been slammed, the design critic... Read the full review: NEW BEETLE, A MUCH BETTER BUG by rvantonder |
