Hi acquired a Volvo 440 GLI Auto on a J reg a couple of months ago for the princely sum of £50, obviously out of tax and test. The car had been sitting for nearly a year and flew through the MOT with only a sidelight having to be replaced.

This car seems to be absolutely sound with no signs of rust amazing considering it is 18 years old. The car is built very well indeed and feels very solid and safe inside. The interior is nothing special being mostly plastic with dash and clocks being nothing but average. However is fitted with electric sunroof, and heated seats but strangely only manually operated windows.

The 1.8 engine in this car is also very good having done 73,000 miles is clean as a whistle and runs very well. I use it everyday for work and i hasn't let me down. Despite my lack of No Claims and only just 25 my insurance worked out at £260

Fuel consumption seems to linger around 35 Miles to the gallon. This car handles well for the type of car of it, dosen't feel to much like a boat in the corners and irons out bumps nicely.

I would have never considered a Volvo before I got offered this one cheap, would now most probably be prepared to get another at some point.
