Me and my Boyfriend bought a 2000 plate 2.0 GTI in November and I'm still finding little gadgets to play with. Our one is a 3 door, which at first I thought was going to be annoying when carrying passengers but the front seats rise up as you pull them forward, which gives your passengers allot more room to get in and out.

We went from a Volvo v40 (a giant car) to this car but the golf has allot of room in the boot with 18 cubic feet. It has a theft-deterrent system that immobilizes the engine unless it recognizes an ignition key with the proper electronic code.

The handling is brill as I discovered the day we bought it, when I took a corner to fast and thought I was going to end up in a field. The car stuck to the road and didn't even cross onto the other side of the road.

There's two-way steering adjustment and comfortable, easy-to-adjust seats, so finding a good driving position is easy. An eight-channel, 200-watt Monsoon sound system rattles the windows and a trunk-mounted six-disc CD changer is added extra.

The GTI has standard air conditioning, automatic power door locks and a cassette player, which is handy if you have an ipod. The layout is logical and the quality of materials is high. With classy blue backlighting for the instruments at night, the Golf's cabin makes for a pleasant driving environment.

I love this car and it looks great.
