Golf GT TDI 170bhp 5 door with Charleston wheel upgrade. Looks Classically stylish with a modern twist. A gorgeous looking car that is understated enough not to get vandalised for being too flash, but you wouldnt feel out of place turning up at a swanky hotel. The wheel upgrade is well worth the £600 extra for the 18 inches as your likely to find resale easier because of this, plus they look great. Performance More 'torque' than Jonothan Ross, opt for the 170bhp engine and its more than the R32!! Very smooth at cruising speeds and great around the town, unleash it on an open country road and it will handle like a GTI. Pricing Slighty ... Read the complete review

Firstly, apologies if thas may not read as well as some other reviews - this is my first one so it may not scrub up as good as others! Having read the other 2 reviews on offer for this fantastic car I can't help but agree with the majority. We have owned this car now since October 2002 and have today reached 13000 miles - we love it that much and we only pootle about. VW's have got such a good build quality reputation anyway so that goes without saying but having had some equally nice cars over the years - this way outstrips them all. We're not Gary boys, we haven't souped it up in any way - it's bog standard and doesn't need any further ... Read the complete review

I love this car, from the superb interior build quality to the deep grunt that comes from the engine when you put your foot on the gass, its a pleasure to drive this car. I purchased my Golf TDI in October 2002 and I made some modifications to it like 17 inch Miglia wheels and a Sony MP3 head unit with a Velocity bass box and Kenwood amp, and let me tell you boy does it look the biz. Silver metallic, its apperance is enhanced by the Golf black colour concept which boasts full black interior leather. This car is best on the open motorway and it eats up road like nothing else. I drive 30 miles to work every morning and I dont notice how long the journey ... Read the complete review

This is a fast car - small body with 150 BHP diesel. Some internal design flaws let it down - the arm rest needs to be raised to use the handbrake, the headrest must be lowered to allow someone into the back seat (its 3 door), the drivers seat needs to be able to be lowered more (or the steering wheel raised more), the central radio/heating controls are too low, the operation of the fog lights is not flexible - but for all the minor faults, its a great car to drive and the petrol consumption is superb. I've come from a 2.5 V6 and this car with its 1.9 engine is faster ! No surprising that there is a long wait for one. ... Read the complete review
