VW Polo 1.4TDI - Is it any good? (VW New Polo S Specification)

Back last year i decided to upgrade from my vauxhall corsa sport to the Volkswagon polo 1.4TDI and can say that i am so glad i did. The polo benefits from a 75bhp engine which actually has plenty to offer for a small car. Many people claim you can achieve 65 miles per gallon but realistically you can expect around fifty which is still very good especially with the increasing fuel prices. It will cost around 30 to 35 pounds to fill the tank with diesel but this will last me all week back and fourth to work (approx 100 miles) plus evening and weekend runs. As the car is economical you also benefit from reduced road tax which is approximately 65 pounds for six months.

The exterior of the car is quite sporty and came standard with 14 inch alloys, colour coaded bumpers and mirrors.

The interior is quite sporty too and benefits from many features such as power steering, twin airbags, heated mirrors (godsend in the winter) cd player, electric windows. A nice touch is the dashboard which illuminates up blue in the night when the lights are turned on. This does look very nice and stylish. Unfortunately air con didnt come standard with the car nor is there a sunroof.

The handling of the car aint too bad but does feel a little light when the roads are wet which does feel a little uncomfortable at first but you soon get used to it.

The braking is actually very good

Overall i would recommend this car, as it is superbly built, good value for money and cheap to run
