I LOVE MY VW Passat 1.8 SE 20V auto - Advantages: CLASSY, QUALITY AND QUANTITY, GOOD AFTERSALES FROM VW EVEN THOUGH I DID NOT BUY IT FROM VW - Disadvantages: A BIT THIRSTY 32 MPG, THE WIFE WANTS TO DRIVE ALL THE TIME, NO ALLOYS AS STANDARD
After a nightmare 4 months owning a 406 I decided to buy an upmarket and reliable car. So I went on a search for a German car I was going to buy a BMW 3 series until I was inside it and found that the interior needed updating, not to mention the extremely high insurance quote (over £3000 as I?m 21). Luckily at the same garage there was a Passat for sale it looked good understated class, inside well maintained with all the toys not to mention a modern look not just black plastic as in the BMW. Within ten minutes I bought it. I really started to appreciate it when I drove it, the ride is smooth engine willing to go from 0 to 70 in a very short time (very handy if you do I lot of motorway driving) gears smooth and brakes sharp. Even though my car is now five years old and has done well above the average mileage there are no squeaks or rattles and amazingly has never let me down. It handles well on snow and ice and when you?re inside the car you never realise how windy it is. My car has: electric front and back window, electric sunroof, abs, power steering, cd player, back headrests and front armrest, not to mention the excellent ob board computer that tells you your average fuel consumption, speed, miles etc this is extremely handy when someone borrows your car as when they say I never went above 50 one check on the computer shows that the average speed was in fact 90. The car has got a few nice extras like an automatic light when you open the vanity mirror on the drivers and passengers sun visor, interior light activation when you unlock your car using the remote. There is plenty of space inside the car for the whole family and dogs. The boot is large with a power socket in it for when you?re camping or just have a flat tyre. It comes with a warning triangle fitted in the boot and a separate compartment for a first aid kit. The seats are firm and make long distances a pleasant experience. This is the type of car that you just
want to keep on driving, I do a lot of driving and I never feel stiff when I get out the car holds the road well and looks the part. For my job its important that my car looks upmarket without being over the top and that?s what I have got. Not to mention the excellent fuel economy at 38 miles to the gallon on motorway and 30-32 miles to the gallon in town, or that my insurance is just £1000. I love this car and will definitely by a Volkswagen again, who needs the BMW badge when you can have a passat with so much more.
