Newest Review: ... my cat isn't really a touchy-feely cat, although he likes cuddles they're always on his terms and he hates being picked up. ... more

... I was pleasantly surprised though, because he absolutely LOVES this comb. He purrs constantly whilst you're using it, and now when he sees it coming out of the drawer he's round my feet all excited because he knows it's pamper time. One the one occasion my cat had fleas (not sure where from because he doesn't mix with other cats but never mind!), this comb dragged them out of his fur and you could see them between the teeth of the comb. He also gets dandruff now and then which apparently is another side-effect...more

Ancol Wooden Handle Flea Comb: Great de-tangling comb (601 words)

Rating:

Our beautiful bearded collie has a wonderful long haired coat that does need regular grooming and a considerable amount of maintenance. As any owner of a longer haired dog knows this is something you cannot skimp on, as tangles and knots can be both unsightly and uncomfortable. Not only do we need to keep her long coat looking good, but we also need to make sure she hasn't got any unwanted visitors. Having such long and flowing fur does mean she can pick up all sorts of things when out and about, brushing against bushes, long grass etc. To combat this and lessen the chances of unwanted nastys setting up home we use an Ancol Flea ...  Read the complete review

When our cat Belle managed to get fleas we had to purchase a flea comb for when the Frontline worked its magic and killed the little buggars off. It was purchased from 5 Away Pets in Bournemouth for around £4.00. The comb has a steel material set of bristles which are rigid and do not move. They are close together to ensure they catch all the dead little buggars. The handle of the comb is nice and chunky and made of a varnished wood. It is nice to hold and feels comfortable when holding it. It can be used on cats and dogs and I have also known people to use them for just grooming especially on dogs such as poodles who have curly fur. The first thing ...  Read the complete review

Ancol Wooden Handle Flea Comb: A great grooming aid (448 words)

Ancol Wooden Handle Flea Comb If you own a puppy or a dog then I would recommend that one of these flea combs is essential. My rather large labradoodle puppy hasn't had any problems with fleas as of yet, but this comb has become a great asset to grooming time. I am lucky enough to live in a tiny village surrounded by beautiful country side and there are lots of lovely places right on our door step to go walking. However, this also means that there are many bushes, branches, grasses, and generally just countryside for my pup to get tangled in his hair. The wider toothed brushed are great at getting out any bigger debris from his coat, ...  Read the complete review

Just over 16 years ago I became the extremely proud owner of a beautiful kitten however my new charge was younger than I'd been told and at only a few weeks old wasn't old enough for insecticide flea treatments. Having been born under a rose bush on a farm he had quite alot of life going on in his little fur coat so I had to act fast, especially as I intended (and did) to have him sleep in bed with me to keep warm. Off to the pet shop I went and purchased a bottle of puppy and kitten shampoo and one of these flea combs. I think I paid about £5 for it at the time and they still cost around that mark. Back home I cranked the gas fire up despite it being the ...  Read the complete review

Dogs and fleas, are like Ant and Dec when you see one the other is usually nearby. So to get rid of them, you need to wash, dose with anti-flea treatment, comb regularly and after all that use a flea comb to ensure that you favourite Saturday night middle of the road entertainers are kept flea free. You can also use all the above products on your dog as well. Seriously if you have a Red setter dog which loves sniffing other dogs, has long hair and plenty of places for fleas to live and breed then the above measures aren't desirable they are essential. So after, the wash, the treatment and the usually comb it is very useful to give your dog a proper ...  Read the complete review
