Ancol Wooden Handle Flea Comb
If you own a puppy or a dog then I would recommend that one of these flea combs is essential. My rather large labradoodle puppy hasn't had any problems with fleas as of yet, but this comb has become a great asset to grooming time.
I am lucky enough to live in a tiny village surrounded by beautiful country side and there are lots of lovely places right on our door step to go walking. However, this also means that there are many bushes, branches, grasses, and generally just countryside for my pup to get tangled in his hair. The wider toothed brushed are great at getting out any bigger debris from his coat, but they do nothing for the smaller bits that get tangled in there.
Mainly I have been so grateful for this comb because of Galium aparine or more commonly known as the sticky willy weed. Our back garden has a few of these weeds and around the areas we go walking has been covered in them. I say the areas 'has been covered' because slowly my puppy is weeding the entire countryside of these pests and bringing them home for me to vacuum and clean up. These sticky willy's if you are not familiar with them have also been called the Velcro plant because the tiny ball like beads get stuck to everything, and they just love my puppy or my puppy loves them. Either way they are becoming an incredible annoyance in my life.
This comb, however, saves me from hours of picking these sticky willy's from his coat. At least with this comb the job can be done in well under half the time and with enormously less hassle. The brush is extremely simple with no frills, it has a wooden handle and a steel fine tooth comb. The handle is both a nice size and shape making it easy to hold while fending off the puppy teeth with your other hand.
These combs are available everywhere and I bought mine from Pet's At Home for around £5, it really has been one of the best things and most useful items that I have bought for my puppy so far.
Personally, I couldn't be without this comb it makes my life so much easier and keeps my puppy from looking like part of the scenery rather than just taking a walk through it. This comb gets a well earned five out of five stars from me. If you don't have one of these I would recommend that you get one.
Summary: 5 out of 5 stars
