Advantages: Cheap to buy
Disadvantages: Small bits go everywhere, dusty and it isn't very absorbent
My kitten Myrtle gets through an awful lot of cat litter. She is a fussy little thing and won't really go back to wheres shes been and in fact just as I started to write this review I looked at her cat litter tray and made a mental note it needed the wet clumps removed in a bit but in the meantime Myrty must of needed a wee, decided not to get her paws wet and peed up against my front door! I'm not impressed but I blame myself to be honest I do know her and her ways and should of just cleaned it when the thought crossed my mind!
I usually spend quite alot of cat litter and more than this costs for just a smaller bag but when I spotted this being so cheap for such a large bag I thought I may be able to spend a few quid in the long run and decided to give it a go! It currently is sold for £1.58 for a 10L size!
This comes in a large bag which is white on the outside, brown on the inside with a small carry handle to the top of it. It is green and white in colouring on the front of it and we are clearly told what it is and who it is by and then on the back of the bag there isn't a lot of information given on there but we are told the size of it and contact details for Asda are clearly stated.
The Cat Litter Itself:
Grey and really dusty and you get alot of small pieces of gravel and like I say lots of dust. I do notice when I pour it that it makes me choke up of course and even when I shoved this in a bucket to try to stop that from happening and the dust going everywhere, poor Myrtle got confused thought that was her new litter tray and pooped all over the lot sot here isn't really a way of preventing that plume of dust!
Now as I have already stated this promises nothing really and for Myrtle on her own providing I clean it out and replace it everyday I can get by with it and even with more expensive ones some days I have to clean it everyday so economical it can be though I wouldn't think that if with the more expensive ones they lasted us longer. Where this really falls flat is when my best mate brings her kitten Henri and him and Myrty use the tray together which is very often and within minutes some days I need to change this because it soaks through and poo stinks as there is nothing within it to guard against smells and I do find as well that if I leave it all day and they are both using it that the wee drains out of the cat litter and stinks really bad.
I would buy this as a back up cat litter and if stuck but in reality it isn't that great. Its so fine its easily flicked by a kitten/cat and really does create a mess and so me, I will stick to buying better just due to this not helping at all with stinky smells!
