Advantages: Its Cheap
Disadvantages: It does not work
I have a couple of cats and with animals you need to not only watch them in terms of general health but for fleas and worms as well. The expense people can go into for there animals is enormous so when I was given a free spot on which was Bob Martin I used it.
I had heard of Bob Martin and it was my friend who gave me the product to try out claiming it worked for her cats. My cat developed some fleas due to a neighbour who was keeping a stray cat and they were passing on the fleas.
I had issues trying to remove them so needed help and this was the solution. I had this some of container which was 0.9,ml and it was a poorly put together. It took me forever to take the actual lid of the container off and I needed to use a knife as scissors were no where around.
I then poured this liquid onto the back of the neck and it is meant to spread through the cat to stop the fleas so you need to make sure it works first. My first problem was trying to apply this product as it was time consuming to hold a cat down for a prolonged period of time.
Eventually this liquid which smelt in some ways was applied and the cat was not happy. On the day I put this item onto the cat I found it had a few fleas roaming so I waited for my next attempt. 48 hours had elapsed and I found NO dead fleas.
I was shocked because this was clearly a product designed to kill fleas and it did nothing of the sort and it seemed there was even more. I had sprayed carpets and chairs and made sure all toys and beds were washed.
I went and sort advice from my vet who advised me against Bob Martin as they were a cheap alternative to Frontline and they do not work. I had used Frontline before and it seemed expensive and I love to find a more simple bargain.
Eventually I needed to settle back to Frontline even though it was going to cost a fortune I knew the fleas would disppear and the problem would disappear. The problem is Bob Martin claim it is 24 week protection when it seems it hardly reaches 24 hours.
I know seeing this inside Tesco they charge around £7 but I am unsure how many little liquid spot on containers you get but even for that price it is silly money to waste.
Your putting your trust into a product which sadly does not deliver any results so it can be a problem for people and especially when you applied it correctly as they directed.
I have learnt from my lesson and would hope others would as well. I would pre warn people your animal will almost certainly not want this applied to them so be careful and do not get this in your eyes burning is likely to occur also.
Summary: Would avoid at all costs
