Please note this review is for Bob Martin double action spot on small medium size dog. Dooyoo has given me the go ahead so here we go.
As most of you know I have a beatiful white toy poodle called Daisy. I rescued her from a couple who neglected her very badly. She was in a right old state when I got her almost a year ago. Daisy keeps catching fleas. I have tried stuff from the vets spraying my home you name it I tryed it. Then I came across this beauty......
Comes in a box with a picture of a cavalier king charles spaniel on the front. This is a spot on liquid treatment. It is used for dogs who are small to meduim size dogs. Can only be used on puppies over the age of eight weeks old. Make sure you weigh your dog before you use it. This packet contains 3 piplets of treatment. The instructions tells me that this treatment kills flea lavae in the pets coat and your home. For up to twelve weeks if using three piplets. My friend tells me that he bought it from a local pet shop and paid £10.00 for it. The piplets are in a little white tube that you unscrew.
Uncrew the piplete and separate the dogs fur at the back of the neck genty squeeze the liquid in to the dogs coat. Wash hands after using it. It has a clear liquid that smells rather un pleasent with a chemical smell to it. Keep out of animals and childrens reach. One piplette gives four weeks protection. Since using this on Daisy i haven't found one flea on her. No more flea hunting with the tweezers lol. When I say Daisy was infested I mean she was infested they where all over her no matter what I tryed in the past nothing ever worked costing me a small fortune. Not any more though it seems to have done the trick. I will be purchasing these again and give them a four star rating.
Available from all good pet shops costing around £10.00 a box of three.
When our lovely golden retriever started to bring home unwanted guests in the spring we knew it was time to act. She is very sociable(think Marilyn Monroe in dog form),but fleas and ticks were definitely not on the guest list. I am not often in favour of "non natural" remedies for our dogs but it got so bad that ticks seemed to be hurling themselves at Jess even if we walked in the middle of the road!! We decided to try Bob Martin Dog Spot On for large dogs over 15kg and it was succesful from day one taking away the stress from us and Jess.
The product comes in three little pipettes one to be applied every four weeks giving 12 weeks protection in total. The instructions are clear with photos on the back of the packaging showing how to apply the drops half on the skin between the shoulder blades and the other half on exposed skin at the base of the tail. There is a marker line on each pipette showing when you have used half the amount to make it even easier to apply.
I apply the drops after Jess has gone to bed for the night as they advise you not to handle the treated area for 6hrs. on the inside of the pack is a small area to record the date of each treatment .Very useful!!
I paid about 5pounds 50p at Morrisons for the pack and consider it money well spent and will be continuing to use it.
This is a great product so its about time i reviewed it, Bob Martins Spot On.
It is a treatment to kill fleas and ticks, i noticed my dogs itching alot recently and i had a look at them and could not find any fleas or ticks but i thought i would treat them anyway.
I bought this from asda for £4.00. It contains 3 treatments which gives upto 12 weeks protection against nasty fleas and ticks. As i have 3 dogs i had to buy 3 packs. You can buy it for different sized dogs- small, medium or large. This can also be used on puppies from 2 weeks old.
How it works- Its very simple to use as the instructions are very straight forward. You take one of the 3 tubes and snip the top off, then part your dogs fur between it sholder blades at the neap of it neck to show the skin. Then empty the entire contents of the tube onto the bare skin. Do not rub into skin or fir.
WARNING - YOU MUST KEEP YOUR DOG AWAY FROM CATS FOR 72 HOURS AS THE TREATMENT IS HIGHLY POISONOUS TO CATS AND CAN KILL THEM!!!
This treatment breaks the life cycle of fleas but if your dog has fleas you have to buy a flea killer to use in the house. I buy a spray on from pets at home and spray the sofa, rug, dog beds and all carpets.
Keep your dog away from children and do not play or let your dog sleep with you for 24 hours, if you come into contact with the solution wash your hands straight away. I recommend wearing latex gloves.
The pack contains a handy record of treatment card, which i cut out and stick on the fridge, you fill in the dates when treatment was done and it tells you how many days before the next treatment. I am so forgetful so i found this very useful.
I found this a good treatment to use, it does kill fleas and ticks and i have been using this brand for many years. My dogs have never had any bad reaction to the treatment and it keeps the protected for 3 months at a time which is good. Fairly cheap to buy and is available in most pet shops and supermarkets. The only thing bad is it smells bad but once absorbed into the skin the smells gone.
Please read the packaging very carefully if you are going to buy this!
Every couple of months we decided to make sure our dog did not get fleas or if he had a couple to put a stop to them before he got them or got more of them.
We had tried shampoo but oh getting him to have a bath or catch him while he was having fun getting wet was very hard to do let alone put the shampoo on him and then wash it out so we decided to try Bob Martin Dog Spot on.
You can buy Spot on in pet shops or like we did and found it very handy in Tescos along side the pet food.
The cost can be between £3 and £5 all according to how large your dog is and how many treatments you want to give him. Dont worry if you dont know how much your dog weighs they do say for small, medium or large size dogs and give you examples which makes it very easy to choose what size you need.
To use it you just cut off the top bit and make a clear space with no dog hair between the shoulder blades at the bottom of his neck and put half of the small tube there and then do the same at the base of the tail.
You will find this really works. You can repeat the treatment in a month, or whenever the packet says as they do vary.
I cannot understand how this works so good but it really does.
I put Bob Martin Spot on as a suggestion a little while ago and as you see I am now doing a dooyoo on it. But, sadly between my suggesting it and it getting on my dog has passed away. He was 17 years old and went in his sleep but I miss him so much but decided to still write this.
Thank you for reading x
