Cats really aren't as easily entertained as dogs, but with this cat tunnel I bought for her on our 1 year anniversary of owning her, fun has been made simple! It's highly appreciated and clearly up to her (high!) standards.
I bought mine online for £10.99 from PetPlanet although I later discovered it's available cheaper elsewhere!
I was very impressed firstly with how the tunnel was made - the design was very cat friendly and I liked how there were different entrances and holes in the top of the tunnel. This provided a lot of fun for our cat as the material of it is flimsy and she rolled over a right few times when trying to jump up inside it! The pom poms were also a major hit but even were cosmetically removed after a few weeks!
The collapsible feature was also appreciated as it's annoying to have it in the living room all the time and this makes it easily folded and stored away.
The actual tunnel was very pleasing to my cat. The material is soft and crinkly, and she loves running through it at a fast pace as well as simply sleeping / spending time inside it - thankfully we're yet to find any 'presents' in it though. The material felt quite thin but seems to be durable and is easily wiped clean if and when dirty.
We previously had another tunnel and it was not as long. This one is around 130cm in length and has a diameter of 27cm. My cat is a Singapura and fits through with ease although I suspect even larger, more commonly sized cats would fit with ease into it also.
It's a great addition to the home and the pink, white and purple colour scheme goes great with her pink collar. We love it, she loves it! Ideal for any cat that loves to play indoors.
I think my cat was more spoilt than I was at Christmas with one of my friends sending her a Christmas card and fully gift wrapped present. One of the presents was this cat tunnel something I had been meaning to purchase for my cat for some time but had not gotten around too.
This cat tunnel can be purchased online or from most pet supply shops. It currently retails for £6.49 on Amazon with free delivery.
The tunnel is expandable and comes packaged flat with a cardboard sleeve packaging. Once you remove the cardboard sleeve the tunnel simply pulls open a little like a spring. It is pink in colour and made from thin plastic material, it is 540mm long and 270mm in diameter. At one end of the tunnel there are two fluffy pink pom pom’s which dangle down in front of the entrance to the tunnel.
My cat is only a small female so fits through this tunnel with ease, she doesn’t really seem to care about the pom pom’s but loves running through the tunnel at speed or lying it in with her tail sticking out of one end.
I was a little worried that the tunnel was a little flimsy and my cat’s claws would tear the material but so far there doesn’t appear to be any damage. I also use the tunnel to hide my cats treats in as she is an indoor cat so I try and find as many ways as possible to keep her entertained.
Overall this tunnel has been a great addition to my cats toy collection as she loves running though it and seeking out her treats from it. It can also be folded up to store away easily if required and is more durable than it looks. 5 stars from me and Tink
I have a reasonably large 3 year old male cat, and when I opened this product I thought he might find it a bit snug, but I underestimated my slinky little quadraped, who launches himself into it with enthusiasm, and charges through it at top speed. The tunnel is of excellent quality and the crinkly bits at the end are irresistable, although he's not that bothered about the dangly pom-poms. He does find it a fascinating lair in which to duff up Mousie, which suits me as I don't have to keep digging him out from under the sofa (Mousie - not the cat). This play tunnel has been a great buy - I certainly recommend it! It's strong and LONG and he runs through it, jumps in and out of the holes, hides in it so he can ambush the other cats, beats up his toys in it and chases balls through it. One of my old lady cats likes to sit in one end but unfortunately for her that still leaves Cash plenty of room and two escape holes to dash in and out of to annoy her. It's good value, I have seen smaller ones which cost more and it doesn't look bad in the house either, quite attractive. It folds down really small so is easily stored. All in all a really good buy which I would recommend especially for entertaining at-home cats (mine stay indoors as am sick of them getting run over by boy racers).
The Ancol Combat Cat Tunnel is a fun twist on the traditional play tunnel. Perfect for hiding games or sleeping this tunnel is both attractive and functional.
