“ Brand: Gimpet / Type: Cat Litter & Litter Boxes „
We really wanted to have a covered cat litter tray when we got Prince as we did not want to have to look at the cat's toilet every day. I know that you still have to clean it just as regularly as a normal one but I really wanted one with a lid so that when I got up in a morning, his litter tray was not staring me in the face. We bought a covered tray and he went in it a few times but he wouldn't go to the toilet in it. We then discovered that he had decided to make the throw on the chair his toilet and found cat number 2s and it stunk of cat wee. Once we discovered this and put two and two together we realised that he did not like his new toilet so we had to buy another one. We wanted one that was quite high to contain his spraying yet in light of the above; we had to get one with an open roof. On searching the web, I came across this one so I bought it. He loves this one and although I still have to see the litter tray, having the lip on the tray makes sure the kicked litter and sprayed urine always stays inside the tray.
==Price and availability==
The litter tray comes in a variety of colours, some even have glitter! They all cost £13.99 and can be bought from Zooplus or from Petland.
I have a plain grey litter tray which comes in two parts, the base and the lipped frame. If you have a kitten that is very small they may struggle to get out of the tray with the lip on so you may find it easier to keep this off until they get bigger. The tray measures 55 cm x 45 cm and stands 17 cm tall.
I love how deep it is though as I do not want to have to sweep up cat litter every day after he has thrown it out. The tray is made from really thick plastic and it is shatter proof. I tend to use liners regularly as these protect the lifespan of the tray. Cat urine is potent and will stain and warp some materials so I prefer to use litter liners.
The tray is superb, it is a great size giving him enough room to dig comfortably yet it does not take up too much of my valuable floor space. The lip is the best invention though and really does help keep my kitchen cleaner. I do not want urine sprayed on the wall so the lid helps to control the back splash and keeps it in the tray.
I regularly clean the cat out, I think my boyfriend has done it once. The best way is to remove the lip and then pour the contents straight into a bin bag or if you are using a liner just pull it out. You can then replace the liner, add the litter and pop the lid back on.
Highly stable cat toilet with protective edges to keep the area surrounding the toilet clean. Available in cool glitter look. Size 55 x 45 x 17 cm
