“ Brand: Kong / Type: Cat Toys „
One of the toys we bought our Tinker when we first brought her home a couple of months ago, was the Kong Kickeroo Kitten toy, which is basically a smaller version of the original Kong Kickeroo for cats. It measures 15 x 5 x 3 cm, making it ideal for a small kitten.
The Kong Kickeroo Kitten toy is described as a wrestling toy and cuddle cushion. It comes in various colours (we got the blue one as that was the only one available in our local pet shop) and costs around £4 in most stores. The Kong Kickeroo's main body is dark blue with lighter blue swirls all over it and it has a rectangular white, red and black logo stitched on it, with the words Kong Kickeroo. The main body is filled with polyester fibres, catnip and plastic film which means that even when touched or moved about gently the Kong Kickeroo makes a rustling noise. The catnip inside it is supposed to attract and stimulate kittens, making them more curious and playful.
The Kong Kickeroo also has a plush tail, which makes the toy resemble the perfect prey (the tail on ours is blue, obviously to match the main body) The tail has a slight shine to it and it is fluffy and very soft.
The first couple of weeks of introducing Tinker to the Kong Kickeroo, she was absolutely terrified of it and would't go anywhere near it. I think that she was actually scared of the rustling noise that it makes, even though it is not a loud one, but she obviously didn't like it. Then one day she started pushing it around with her paw. Slowly, she started getting more brave...she would hide and then jump out, give it a few kicks and run back into hiding again, until eventually she realized that the Kong Kickeroo was no threat to her. Now whenever she has her mad half hours she is constantly playing with it. Watching her play with it you wonder whether she loves it or hates it. One minute she is jumping on it, wrestling it, clawing it, biting it, next minutes she is laying down cuddling it.
The Kong Kickeroo is well made, even though it has by now been through many battles with Tinker, it is still looking good. There have been no bits coming off the tail, the body has no holes or rips in it and the stitching is still intact. All in all, a great quality toy that keeps Tinker occupied and will last a long time, so highly recommended.
The Kong Top Seller now also available for kittens robust toy with plush tail and catnip satisfies all your kitty's hunting urges.
