When we just had Duke mess around his food bowls wasn't much of an issue. However Daisy is a bit more untidy! She always takes her food out her bowl, puts it on the floor and then eats it so its fair to say the tiles on the floor were getting much dirtier much more quickly than before she arrived. I had seen cat placemats about but hadn't seen one I really liked. However when I did a zooplus order recently I thought I should get one because the kitchen was constantly messy. I saw this placemat and it was definitely one that I really liked so I popped it on my order. I thought it was a bargain at £1.49.

The placemat is the same size as other pet feeding mats, its about 40cm long and 30cm tall so it is a good size. I can easily fit 3 bowls on this - both Duke and Daisy's bowls and their water bowl but when they have kitten milk aswell I do struggle to fit everything on and often have to put them in a zig zag row!

I love the design of the placemat. My kitchen is baby blue and I think the design goes well with my colour scheme. I also like the slogan and the fancy writing. One thing worth noticing here is that Trixie is an american brand, therefore favourite is spelt favorite but this really isn't noticed unless you study the mat!

The placemat is made from a soft and flexible wipe clean plastic. Underneath there is a sort of non slip fabric.

The cats like their mat and Daisy is definitely making less mess now! I find it much easier to clean than the tiles on the floor and it is leaving my kitchen looking much nicer!

I love the design and I think I may buy another so the babies can have one each!
