“ Brand: Trixe / Type: Cat Entertainment „
When we brought Prince home as a kitten, I knew that he was going to need something to occupy him and I really did not my furniture to be the subject of his cat games. I needed a scratch post to save my furniture, so when I saw this one I thought that it looked brilliant. It is engaging for the cat without being too much of an eye sore in my home.

This cat climbing tree from Trixie will cost you around £19.99 and it can be bought online or from large Pet Shops such as Pets at Home.
The whole structure stands nearly 30 inches tall and includes a lovely little hide away nest, two platforms that are around 11inches square of various heights which are fitted onto two scratching posts. There is a(was) a little ball on a string to engage the cat in play. The whole structure is mainly made from chip board covered in a soft fluffy felt material that is a soft being colour.
Prince likes his tree and enjoys sitting on the top platform and watching the birds out of the conservatory windows. He hardly ever goes in the nest to be honest, but then why would you want to cramp your style in a little box when you have a massive sofa to sit on and sleep! The scratch posts are the best point and are holding up well to his constant nail sharpening! He often bounces from each platform and back again, leaping around the house in one of his 'mad half hours.' He does seem to really approve of the tree and I do believe that it saved our furniture from some unprovoked attacks when he was a kitten. He also uses the platforms to scratch on and over time, he has pulled the fur off the board revealing the cheap nasty chip board underneath, it is now starting to look quite scruffy. I am contemplating covering the tops with some fabric to make it look more attractive; however this is a job for a rainy day when I have more time! When we brought the item home, it did not take Prince long to work out what the scratching posts were for. I was really worried that he would claw my sofa and thanks to this item he was not interested in my furniture at all.
The overall quality of the tree is quite good, you build it yourself with sections screwing together with ease. The whole thing is very stable and quite weighty once you put it all together. There was a ball on a string from the top platform that was a complete waste of time as Price swiped it off within a few minutes of playing with it. We fastened it back up along with a couple of homemade dangly things, made from a bit of old sock and string with a feather.
I really cannot complain with this item, it is looking tatty but it is really well used. The scratch posts have really held up to his abuse. I would replace this with the same model but to be honest I think I will just recover the frame and make do!
