      Disadvantages

A cheap and cheerful treat for my favourite four legged animals.

Ollie, Meg and Yuki are my three lovely kitties with big hearts and big appetites to match! As you'd expect, if my cats are not sleeping then they're eating and I do like to give them a treat from time to time inbetween meals. Dreamies definitely seem to be the favourite treat among all three of them but these cat sticks from Claude appear to be a popular choice too.

I pick up a pack of these every week when I go shopping with ten sticks costing a reasonable 95p. Compared to the Whiskas alternative which cost 50-75p for three sticks and Tesco's version which cost £1.29 for ten sticks this is excellent value for money. They only come in this poultry and liver flavour though which is my only complaint. The cats don't seem to mind this mind you but I'm sure they wouldn't turn their nose up to at least one other flavour option.

These sticks are individually foiled wrapped with ten then stuck together with perforated edges to create the long brown and orange packaging. I'm never too sure why the packaging has been given this design. The easy to tear strips would be perfect for dog treats as it would allow you to take a couple out on walks without compromising on the freshness of them but I just find this to be unneeded for cat treats. Having said that I do put that method into good use as my dog loves these just as much as the cats do!

The actual sticks are about five inches long and a few cm wide. They're very meaty in smell and texture but appear to be quite moist too. The dark brown sticks have little indented edges along them to allow smaller chunks to be easily ripped off if needed. With my cats this definitely isn't needed. They will all eat one whole with absolutely no difficulties whatsoever.

Last year my youngest cat Yuki was shot three times in the stomach by some complete idiot with a pellet gun. After coming very close to being put to sleep three times in one week he somehow managed to recover and I was told he would never eat properly again. Would you believe that this same cat now devours an entire one of these in half the time it takes my other two cats to chomp their way through one? Actually Yuki, and lord knows how, has no problems with any food now days but he does seem to get through these rather quickly!

These cat sticks are a lovely treat for my lovely feline friends, ones which I shall continue to buy for as long as they like them. At 95p for ten sticks it seems rude not to really!
