Advantages: Cheap and good at cleaning tartar
Disadvantages: They disappear too fast
We have a cat (Champ) who loves his little treats. We give him food that we eat as a family now and again but the vet recommended to give her something crunch if at all possible as this will help with her teeth as she has a nasty build up of tartar. She has also lost a couple of lower teeth but we are not sure how, we think it is due to fighting with other cats in the neighborhood. Her remaining teeth are quite yellow so we thought these might help with his dental hygiene.
They are called DREAMIES. We laughed when we read the name as it seems a mad name for a cat treat / food. The picture on the front is of a cat lying down on his back with a very full tummy and gazing up at the sky dreaming about eating more cat treats!
The treats themslves are square shaped brown cubes which are quite hard and crunchy. They are stored in a 60g plastic pouch and the ones he likes to eat mostly are the salmon flavoured ones, though these do come in a wide range of tastes and flavours to choose from. When you shake the plastic packet they make a great noise, and Champ comes running into the kitchen from wherever she has been hiding.
We give her a small handful and she bolts them down her neck before the dog has time to wake up and reaslise what is going on. The packet is easy to open and you just tear it across the top. It is not resealable but they tend to stay fresh anyway in my personal opinion.
Champ really loves these treats and they are also nutritious and have vitamins and minerals specific to the cat's needs so we know that we are doing her and her teeth some good.
Definitely recommended by us.
