Advantages: Reasonable price, easy to open, can be recycled, our cat likes the fish variety.

Disadvantages: None.

We have a cat and she has become our life over the past year. She is wonderful, such fun to be around, she is fussy at times and while some times she will love a particular dinner for weeks on end she will then decide to stop eating it just as quickly. We tend to chop and change her brands regularly to try and prevent her becoming completely bored of something, this usually works quite well for us as it means we can find out which brands smell horrible, which ones she loves and which ones we love for their low price and quality. We like to try and purchase either individual dinners (i.e pouches and foil trays) or multi-packs of several flavours to keep her provided with lots of variety and also increase our chance of success when serving up a dinner for her.

One such multi-pack that we purchase probably once every 5 or 6 weeks is the Felix foil pack multi-packs. These contain 12 x 100g trays and cost £2.99. We find this to be a reasonable price and while you can save money by buying the cans we find that our cat is not quite so interested in the meat from the cans, no idea why really. Her favourite selection from Felix is the fish one which contains cod & haddock, tuna & trout and turkey & salmon. Our cat actually loves all three of these flavours and this is the main reason for our repeat custom, as well as frequent special offers and good availability in our local Tesco stores.

These foil packs are fabulous. We find that we can stack them several high in the cupboard before they would topple over which is always good on space saving. The trays are very uniform in appearance. They are basically a cube kind of shape, with rounded edges, and you have a foil lid that has an overhanging tab that is used to pull off the lid and get to the cat food underneath. The lid is easy enough to remove if a little tough but this just means that it does not just rip off and flick the cat food everywhere. It also means that my cat cannot just get in to these like she once managed with a pouch that I purchased!

The meat within these pouches looks good enough for my cat. There are chunks of meat in jelly and it is very simple to turn this over and wait for the whole solid block to drop out. This makes it very simple for me to put this in to my cats bowl and then use one of her special forks to mash it up a little bit to the required chunks that she prefers when eating her dinner.

These do smell quite fishy and as soon as I peel back the lid my cat knows that she is about to get fed and soon walks over to her 'The Boss' mat and waits for me to lay her bowl down. My cat usually eats her pouches about half in the first sitting and then she will come back throughout the afternoon or morning and finish it off completely bar a few pieces. With these Felix ones she tends to eat well over half and then polish off the entire bowl. This is good to see and stops me worrying about the fact that she is slightly underweight at the moment (because of illness).

As long as our little cat likes eating these we will continue to buy these. The price of them is reasonable and our cat will generally have 1 pouch, dry biscuits and some other bits daily so the price is not prohibitive at all. The fish does not smell overpowering, not like some of the meat ones, and our cat certainly seems to have warmed to them.

Summary: A cat food for our little Princess.
