I tend to feed our cat a mixture of wet and dry food and her preference seems to be the wet food from the packets mixed with some form of dried cat food.
I usually pick up a 340g box from my local bargain store for around the £1 mark, but believe the RRP to be no much more than this and certainly no more than £1.50; instantly making this good value.
I don't think the cat has noticed any difference between the different favours, and she hasn't indicated any preference; at the moment she is eating and enjoying the tuna herring and vegetable variety although it is also available in different flavours as well as packs for senior cats, kittens and indoor cats.
The product claims to be a complete 100% balanced meal. giving cats al the nutrition they need, and containing protein, vitamins and minerals.
The food comes in a cardboard box with all of the information on the sides of the box. The box is opened via a perforated piece at the side of the box with the idea being to then pour the food out of the side. Simple in theory but the perforation does take some pulling at to get it open completely. The food itself is all shades of brown and in the shape of what look like small fish and bones. Im not sure this is strictly necessary to get the cat to eat them but it is a nice touch! They have no discernible smell which surprised me as I was expecting them to smell quite fishy but I am rather glad they don't.
I don't tend to measure out how much I give but a measuring cone can be ordered from the site, www.go-cat.co.uk. It indicates that a 3kg cat should have 55g of the stuff daily while a cat weighing 5kg needs 90g. however, using this and wet food, our cat tends to stay nice and healthy and she isn't over or under weight so we must be feeding her the correct amount.
I can go only on the cat's recommendation: does she eat it? Is she healthy? The answer to both of those questions is a resounding yes!
Based on these factors, I would recommend the product. It is easy to store and serve, reasonably priced and for anyone wanting to feed only dried food, it is a meal in itself. The only thing to remember is to leave your cat with plenty of fresh water.
