I try to give my cats high quality food to keep them as healthy as possible. I also prefer to feed them dry cat food and have done this since they were kittens as my vet recommend this to ensure that they did not get any dental problems. The brand of dry cat food that I currently use is Purina Pro Plan Adult and I buy the chicken and rice version.
Purina Pro Plan is a premium cat food that includes a high level of meat and is specially developed to cater for adult cats providing all the nutrients and energy your cat needs to live a long, healthy, active life. It includes OptiRenal to help with kidney function, a special mixture of nutrients containing vitamins C, E, B-Carotine, arginine, and Omega-3 fatty acid EPA.
The cat food comes is sealed paper packages and I normally buy a large 10kg bag that costs about £35. I find that even feeding my two cats twice a day this lasts for at least 6 months so eventually works out at good value for money.
On opening the bag the food is a dry kibble that is not too large so it is easy for my cats to swallow. It hardly smells at all so is not unpleasant to have in the house.
Both of my cats love this food and eat it very happily. It is meant to help with their general health and to give them shiny coats and I must admit that both of my cats always look very healthy and even the vet recently commented on how shiny one of my cat's coats was. Although it is expensive I prefer to know exactly what my cats are eating and trust Purina Proplan so am happy to continue feeding them this as long as they will eat tit
