“ Brand: Royal Canin / Food Type: Cat Food „
We have been feeding our 3 adult moggy cats (Nemo, Spike & Willow) this food for several years now. We have tried many foods over the years and this one balances quality / price very well. The cats all love the food. On the odd occassion we have run out and has to pick up whiskers or go-cat at short notice, the cats all refuse to eat it.
We usually buy in bulk 10kg sacks as this represents the best value at approx £42 and a sack will last our 3 a couple of months. Each cat needs 60g a day, therefore 3 cats need 180g and 10kg will last 55 days. At £42 per sack, that means a spend of 76p per day for all 3. If we were to feed whiskers, they would need 2 tins a day between them at 55p per tin.
It is a dry biscuit food that balances protein (32%) and vitamins/nutrients. Our cats are all very healthy and have lovely silky coats.
Downsides are that you need to portion control what they eat or they can put on weight and because it is a dry food, you need to make sure that fresh water is available all the time.
Royal Canin have a wide range of different foods for different types of cat from pedigree to elderly or inactive, so they are bound to have an ideal specialist food for your cat that is better and cheaper than canned food.
