In my last review, I said that I started feeding my dog Royal Canin after it was recommended by our dog trainer. After seeing the good results it gave our dog, I spoke to the dog trainer about also feeding Royal Canin to our cats, and he recommended this Exigent 33 Aromatic Attraction dry food. He has a good deal of experience of looking after cats in their cattery, and so I trusted his opinion on cat food as well as his views on dog food.
Similarly to the Royal Canin dog food, types of Royal Canin cat food can be purchased from veterinary practices, pet stores and from various online retailers. The only issue we have found with this Aromatic Attraction food is that it isn't always stocked in stores that sell Royal Canin, and so we tend to purchase ours online, and it can be found from retailers such as Pets at Home and Pet Supermarket, and also from Amazon. The food is available in different size bags but to give you an idea of price, it is often available at around the £45 mark for a 10kg bag, although some places charge a lot more than this. It seems to be quite expensive when you see the prices, but a 10kg bag lasts us for a few months, and that's with feeding two cats every day.
Aromatic Attraction dry food consists of little round dark brown biscuits with a hole in the middle, so they look a bit like a dark brown cheerio! It is a complete food and so doesn't need to be given with any other food. The food is for cats aged over 1 year old and it is designed for very fussy adult cats because of it's aromatic profile, hence the name Aromatic Attraction. The cat food claims to help maintain ideal weight and the nutrients it contains, including biotin and borage oil, help to maintain a healthy coat.
We've never had a particular problem with our two cats not wanting to eat their food, but they didn't seem to like another type of Royal Canin cat food we gave them anywhere near as much as this type. Both our cats really enjoy eating this cat food, and our one cat who has always been rather small has put on a bit of weight since we've been giving her this food, and so she must really like it. Other than Spice gaining a little bit of weight, we haven't notice any real changes in our cats since they've been eating this food, but touch wood they've always been and looked like healthy cats and so I wasn't expecting them to change in any way.
I therefore don't know if this cat food is a great deal better for our cats' health than other types of food that is available, but they certainly seem to enjoy eating Aromatic Attraction, and the fact that Royal Canin cat food is sold in veterinary practices suggests to me that this brand must be a good choice for them. It doesn't work out as too expensive, considering how long the big bags last for, and if it helps to look after my cats' health then I'm more than happy to carry on purchasing it.
Royal Canin Exigent 33 Aromatic Attraction is a dry cat food for cats that are particularly sensitive to smells. It has a pleasant aroma helps maintain ideal weight and a beautiful fur.
