      • "Healthier than many cat treats."

      Good quality treats.

Hearties are a heart shaped cat treat from Smilla.

We have both of the types of treats that Smilla do. These and the dental care ones. Both come in a little plastic tub which can be easily opened and re-closed and keeps the treats fresh. One of my cats revels in tracking down bags of treats and shredding the package to get at the contents but the plastic box stops that.

Each of the treat kibble is quite small and I've used them to fill snack balls. They are small enough that our kittens can have them, we have found some cat treats are a little on the big side for smaller cats.

These treats are designed to help with fur balls too, I can't say I've noticed them helping particularly but I tend to not feed a huge number of treats.

The ingredients are poultry meal, animal fat, maize, wheat, barley, meat greaves meal, liver meal, wheat flour, protein hydrolysate, fish meal, whole egg powder, dried beet shavings, linseed, dried brewer's yeast, sodium chloride.

They contain Nutritional additives per kg: Vitamin A (16.750 IU), vitamin D3 (1.450 IU), vitamin E (145mg), zinc [as zinc oxide] (30mg), zinc [as amino acid zinc chelate, hydrate] (40mg), iodine [as anhydrous calcium iodate] (2mg), selenium [as sodium selenite] (0.2mg), copper [as copper-(II)-sulphate, pentahydrate](10mg), taurine (1300mg).

I've only ever seen the Smilla range available online and not in pet shops which makes them less easily available obviously.

Each pack is 125g and costs £1.49. They seem good value as the pack is quite big.
