A Great Budget Price Kitten Food!

I actually don't personally own a kitten but I had to buy some of these Tiger Kitten Food products recently for my friend's pet whom I am looking after. I wasn't sure what to get for the kitten at first but when I saw these in Asda for only 25p I thought they were too cheap not to buy.

The product comes in a foil tray which is rather small at only 100g. I bought these from the Asda Click and Collect service and when I got them home I found they were slightly bashed around the edges. However, I think they would endure quite a lot of knocks before piercing as the foil is quite thick. The trays are covered with a peel back foil label which has a tongue at one corner to enable easy opening.

Asda state the food is for cats up to 12 months old and that it provides "complete and balanced nutrition" for the animals. The food has added taurine, an organic acid which aids healthy growth and development. The food is steam cooked.

The meat is like a pate style so when you open the tray there is one compact square of soft meat. There is a little bit of transparent jelly on the edges at the bottom but not much. There is, however, rather a lot of slightly yellow coloured juice inside the tray which smells very meaty and which I just pour into the bowl as well. The kitten I have been minding enjoys licking every last drop! The meat is so soft that it can be sliced into smaller pieces very easily. You definitely need to do this to encourage the kitten to tuck into the food. The food smells very rich and delicious so that it is appealing to kittens but it does not have too much of an overpowering meat smell that might be off-putting to us humans!

I think the price is perfect for these little trays and my kitten friend definitely appreciates them and eats them very heartily. I would therefore recommend the Tiger Pate With Turkey food to anyone with a young hungry cat!

You can buy these in store at Asda or from their online grocery shop.

A really great kitten food and budget friendly too!

My kitten Myrtle is really, really fussy. I have never had a lot of success feeding her kitten food and had to offer kitten and adult food to get her to eat anything at all!

This I found in my local Asda store and at only 28p a tray I decided that was cheap and to give it a go with not a lot to lose but I didn't think she'd even look at it to be honest!

      The Packaging:

This comes in a gold foil tray with a pull off lid to the top of it and on the top of that lid there is a photograph of a lovely kitten and we are told that it is Asda 'Tiger', Kitten Pate With Turkey and that it contains added Taurine, offers complete & balanced nutrition, is steamed cooked and contains no artificial colours or flavours and is 100g in weight then on the base of the tray ingredients and nutritional content is given along with feeding advice and contact details for Asda. This is nice enough, informative packaging, easy to open and so on.

      The Pate itself:

Well basically this pink, moist looking pate appears just like human pate really. You can give up to 4 trays of this to a kitten up to one years of age a day, me though I match and mix what I give to Myrtle to keep her interested in meal times more often than not.

She loves this, its easy for me to mash up and smells to me rather meaty and looks nice enough. I can't tell you how much meat is actually in this as we are not told on the tray though we are told that it contains meat and fish derivatives as well as a few other things.

Like I say my Myrtle loves this and can't seem to get enough of it and there is plenty enough in the tray to feed my growing kitten so we're both happy! Another kitten who can't get enough of this is my mates kitten who is staying here with us all at the minute and the kittens fight over this often so thumbs up from them!

      Only available in Asda stores.
