Not a hit with us, hard to understand the point of the product.

My partner bought these Whiskas crunch by accident, thinking they were cat treats. In fact they are intended to be used as topping for cats' wet food. The tub is identical in shape to Whiskas cat treats, but about twice as deep, containing literally hundreds of the little mini-biscuits. Each one is only about 5mm x 5mm, shaped like a cat head, and there really is very little to them. There is no smell to speak of, but they are supposedly flavoured with chicken, turkey and duck. When I used the topping on my cats food, I didn't notice any significant excitement in the cats or relish from eating their food, in fact at the end, some of the crunch remain, its as if its actually an inconvenience. I do understand that it adds another texture to the cats meals, but I don't entirely understand what the intended benefit is. On the other hand though, they do come to me to have them as treats when its bedtime, and they do seem quite excited by them then. That said, they tend to get swallowed whole, due to their tiny size, so its hard to imagine what the attraction is. I really like the packaging of these Crunch, as I do the Whiskas treats, because they have a proper plastic lid which clips on and off to keep them secure from curious and determined cats if they happen to be left out of the cupboard. The pot also lends itself to pouring the topping onto the food, being large enough to get a good secure hold of. In all, I'd say I'm pretty underwhelmed by this product, and my cats are probably not much more excited than that either. In our case, we are struggling to see the point of them.

A nice topping for my lovely girl!

My cat Myrtle Rose is a very spoilt little thing in my opinion and really does believe that she is a precious princess (I agree she is too lol) and so I spend lots of pennies on her per week but me, I don't care what I spend on her to be honest because shes my faithful companion and the love of my life! With Christmas fast approaching (at the time!) I got my thinking cap on to what I could fill her fluffy pink Princess stocking with as treats for her because after-all it isn't just Christmas for us human folk eh?! I decided to simply fill it with things that I know she likes not just cos she likes the things but that it saves me money anyway for the next month too so good for both of us! The Packaging: These come in a really deep pink coloured plastic tub which is shaped like a cat head and over that you get a see-through plastic lid and under that a peel back foil section and on that there is a picture shown of a cat and we are clearly told that they are Whiskas Crunch! and the 'kibbles' are shown and then around the main of the tub again we are told what they are and so on and who they are by and a bit about the product, feeding advice is given as well as ingredients and nutritional advice being given, the size is stated which in this case is 100g and contact details for the manufacturer are clearly stated. Its a nice looking, robust and informative enough tub this one! The Crunch!: I bought these for Myrtle as a little treat as this is basically a topping for dinners. I bought them in the Chicken, Turkey And Duck Flavour simply because I know that she appreciates the flavour. Basically the 'Crunch!' is little rough textured and dry biscuits/kibbles. They are dark brown, light brown and deep reddish in colour and really small. They smell yeasty to me though are made up from cereals and meat and animal derivatives. Myrtle really does like these and chomps at them with gusto! I simply sprinkle a few of these over dried or wet cat food and don't mix them in so that they keep their crunch and they really tempt her to tuck into a meal! I buy these in supermarkets and good pet stores for about £1.39 a tub and I am more than happy to pay that because you do get a lot of the cat food topping (this!) and she seems to rally enjoy them! I don't give them every meal because I am conscious of her getting overweight but as an occasional treat I think these are great and I do like her to eat crunchy things because I believe they are good for her nashers! A great buy! This review is also posted on Ciao under this same username.

      Well loved by most cats

My friend who has 2 cats recommended Whisaks Crunch to me, and when she said how crazy they get when she gets the box out I laughed, but did not believe her. Until my cat Lola tried them! Whenever I buy a box and she has not had it for a while, she pulls them out of the bag herself, and bites the lid to open them. I once hid them in a drawer with no backing to it, and when I got up in the morning, she had gotten into the drawer, opened the lid, and they were spilled all over the floor. Although she did not eat them all, she had certainly helped herself to over half the packet! So although I can't review this item and tell you how nice they are, I most certainly can tell you cats go mad for them! Therefore they must be nice. And my dog comes running all excited when I shake the packet too!

Get this for little cat treats as your cat certainly deserves it

My cat goes absolutely mental for Whiskas crunch! In fact, when I went to get the package just now to write this review, he appeared out of nowhere having heard the telltale rattle that means I had gotten his treats down. He is now meowing incessantly next to me so hang out while I sprinkle some of these out for him ... there, now I can concentrate! Whiskas Crunch is meant to be a topping for cat food. It says to sprinkle Whiskas Crunch onto your cat's Whiskas wet meal to add crunch to it. Well, I'm sorry but this seems a bit ridiculous to me. Cat's don't need crunch in their meals! In nature, crunch in their bits of meat would be just wrong. And wet food is exciting enough to my cat without the need for crunch for goodness sakes! So why have I given this product 5 stars? Well, I use this as a treat for the cat and as a treat my opinion of this stuff is very high. First of all the pieces are tiny so I don't feel that I'm giving my cat lots of bad junk food when I give him a sprinkle of this. Secondly, he goes mad for it and absolutely loves it and its his opinion that matters here after all. My cat is spoiled and has loads of toys all over the house. I sprinkle this into one of his toys like his tunnel or his scratching post or the big box he loves to jump in. Chasing his treats as he plays with his toys adds extra excitement to his day and I know he appreciates it, even if he can't tell me so himself. This product costs about £1 for 100 grams, a very good deal and worth it for a happy cat.

I'd rather buy standard Whiskas biscuits

I'm always spoiling my little moggie Shadow and the whiskas range of treats are amongst his favourites. Last week Whiskas Crunch appeared on the shelf in Asda and as it was probably the only treat in the range I had not tried I decided to buy it. It is in the same pot shaped like a cats head as the rest of the whiskas treats only the 100g pot is probably around twice the size as the other treats. It cost me £1.24 for the pot. Whiskas crunch are cat biscuits which are to be given along with wet food. The idea is that you sprinkle them on top of the wet food and the cat gets a change of texture, dry biscuits are also good for the cats teeth as the crunching helps to clean the plaque off them. I was really surprised when I opened the pot at how small these crunchies are, I would estimate that they are around half the size of standard Whiskas crunchies. The crunchies themselves are shaped like tiny cats heads and there are three different coloured biscuits inside the pack, I'm assuming that each one is chicken, turkey or duck as that is the flavours in the pack. They smell slightly weaker than normal Whiskas crunchies too but still have that distinctive meaty smell. I poured some of the crunchies onto Shadows food and he was really happy, he loves his whiskas crunchies anyway so I was not surprised that he liked the taste. The problem is that the crunchies are so tiny that he simply laps them up with his tongue and swallows them whole so there is no crunching going on at all. I've tried to give them to him on their own and it is exactly the same, he picks them up with his tongue and throws them straight down his throat. This means that he is getting none of the benefits that crunching dry food has for cats teeth as they don't even touch his teeth. Although the cat enjoyed the Whiskas crunch it is not a product I will be buying again. They are really expensive compred to normal Whiskas biscuits, I can buy a box four times the size for the same price and as they are so small I dont think he is benefiting at all from them. He is a pretty greedy cat anyway so maybe if your cat eats slower they might actually crunch the biscuits and not swallow them whole but I would rather buy standard Whiskas biscuits or dentabits for him instead.

          Something different to try

I first bought this several years ago, and I was intrigued by the idea. Whiskas Crunch are little biscuits in the shape of the Whiskas cat logo which you sprinkle on top of wet food to add some crunchiness. I'm not sure sure if Whiskas ever say this, but as I understand it these biscuits add the crunchiness of bones to the meat!! Lovely... I bought it again recently for Snoopy, as I thought he might enjoy a bit of variety and the mix of crunchy and wet food. His main diet is dry food, but I give him meat a few times a week. The Crunch biscuits come in a plastic tub like most of the other Whiskas treats, and you sprinkle them over the top of the meat. I put out the meat, and then shook the biscuit tub to get Snoopy's attention - but he was little preoccupied eating already! Pushing him out of the way I sprinkled some biscuits on top of meat. He then had a bit of a sniff at his dinner, and seemed a little confused - what were these things on top of his meat?? He ate all his meal, although there were a few biscuits left lying in his dish once he finished. He seemed to enjoy it as much as usual - he ate it at high speed as ever! I picked these up in a local pet shop for I think around £1.50 for the tub. I've just checked Tesco, Sainsburys and Zooplus websites and can't find the product on any of them, so perhaps it is not the most common of the Whiskas treats. The tub is twice the size of the standard Whiskas treat tubs, but you do use more in one go than with the Dentabits or Temptations for example. I like the concept of a mixed texture meal for cats, it adds a little variety, and my cat certainly seemed to enjoy them! He's had them several times now since I bought this tub and has eaten them up every time.

            Your cat will love them!

Whiskas Crunch, is more of a topping for your cats regular wet food. It comes in a 100g purple tub in the shape of a cats face on top, with a little plastic flip lid. Sealed with foil for freshness and the delicious flavour of Chicken, Turkey and Duck. Your cats will go crazy for the crunch! My cat Ava does, if I shake the tub, she knows what it is, and comes creeping up to me meowing her little head off. Just sprinkle on top of your cats regular wet food, your cats will love the taste and texture, of the wet food with the added crunch. The little biscuits are even in the shape of little cat heads, but your cat won't notice that, I think that's just for us! haha! Enriched with extra vitamins and minerals, every crunch is giving your cat the goodness and nutrition it deserves, helping them lead a healthy and happy lifestyle. You can buy the tubs for just over £1 from most supermarkets, and I tend to give it to my cat as a treat every other day. Thanks for reading :)
