Caudalie's Gentle Buffing Cream is an excellent scrub for normal to very dry skin not prone to blemishes. It would be gentler (and better for sensitive skin) without the fragrance and fragrance ingredients such as geraniol, but in terms of abrasiveness and ingredients that cushion skin as you scrub, this is quite mild. I have quite sensitive skin and normally my skin can't handle using scrubs but with this scrub I didn't experience problems. It has a pleasant fragrance, not overpowering but not mild either. I think the fragrance adds to the luxury feel of the scrub because without the scent it could be any cheap scrub on the market.
Caudalie caims that this rich scrub eliminates impurities, dead skin cells and excess oil while stimulating cellular renewal. They say that your complexion's radiance is gently restored and your skin is soft and clean. I don't know about the skin renewal and restoration but I agree that my skin felt soft and clean. After using the scrub on a daily basis for three weeks I didn't notice any change when I was looking in the mirror so I can't say that my skin radiated anything unusual, but I left the house every morning feeling fresh whenever I touched my face with my hand it had that lovely clean feel to it.
This is a good cleanser, an excellent scrub for dry skin and it comes in air tight packaging.
This scrub whilst being good is also rather expensive.
This is my HG manual exfoliator! I've got dry skin easily. Even with BHA exfoliation and AHA, I will get flakey patches which have only gotten worse during my phase of experimenting with moisturizers that are tinted and sunscreens. This scrub is extremely light but quite successful. The round jojoba beads never irritate my skin when it is somewhat raw from shedding, while getting rid of all the flakes. The moisturizing base is really amazing at preventing aggravation during shielding and scrubbing my skin once I've removed all the scrubbing beads. The only disadvantage is it's a little difficult to wash off, but I've started simply wiping of the beads, which saves me the measure of moisturizing because the base is so fine.
I feel like there's no means to damage myself with this stuff, regardless of how much I rub, which is great since I am a newbie to physical scrubs and the last one I attempted (St. Ives Sensitive Scrub) scratched up my face so bad it took days of extreme moisturizing to cure. It's not cheap, but it is worth every penny since you only require a tiny quantity and I think the bottle will last me for years.
That is by far the loveliest facial scrub I have ever attempted, It is just like the name shows, quite gentle but nevertheless powerful. It makes the skin positively glowing and moisturised. One tube lasted me well over a year, therefore i consider it a good (and, let's face it, a not quite expensive) investment and will and have repurchased over and over. I simply hope they change the formula or don't discontinue this.
This is really a ABOVE AVERAGE soft scrub. This was recommended by an excellent woman in the Skincare boards to me as I was looking to get a lightly scrub which did not tear my face apart.
Before buying this I have been using Clinique 7 day scrub with dreadful results. This scrub does an effective job of exfoliating without causing any aggravation or frightening which I often experienced with other products. While it cost somewhat a lot more than other scrubs on the market in its class, it is worth every penny.
Absolutely amazing. I am so glad I eventually reached because of it. Fascinating narrative with my first use--I flaked on the instructions and somehow believed you were supposed to leave it on for awhile ahead of the light scrub. So, I put it on my face, and jumped to the shower, and did not wash it away until several minutes later. My skin felt fantastic!! As I rinsed the product off, I felt just like an old dead layer of skin was gently coming off, also. Later on I read the directions and used it the "normal" way, but the results weren't as great! So... I've been using it the "wrong" way permanently. I am not asserting, although I don't have any idea why it works better that way! The aspirin mask, as well as this buffing cream, have given me the finest appearing skin since I've had. I wish it weren't so pricey, but at least it doesn't let you down! With the aspirin mask's low cost, I'm coming out about right.
It is vital have for people with sensitive skin who don't want to rely 100% on BHA solutions. I will definately buy again & again.
I adore this cream. i initially believed it wouldn't work well because it's more creamy with just a slight bit of grain, looked overly light, but it definitely does the trick.
After using it, my skin was noticeably softer, smoother, with an all over even really pleasant and skin tone clean glow. Additionally it appeared to discreetly tighten up pores.
The image on the bottle is nice and I enjoy that it is not housed in a jar like so many scrubs are, but mad mold is attracted by something about it. The complete cap area is persistently grimy, so I was always nervous about the product then going on my face and touching the mould.
I have used it 4 times now. Same good results every time.
My skin is pretty dry and this does not make it any drier. My skin can also be sensitive to my skin and a lot of things handles this extremely nicely - no redness, bulges or any irritation whatsoever.
I've attempted exfoliants while you do have to rinse well, that took forever to rinse completely off /scrub, in comparison this rinses off quite easily.
To the expensive side, but a little does go quite a way.
As the entire formula is so great I wish they are able to put in just a few more granules to give a deeper exfoliation but it's been giving really nice results - so happy I found it and thankful to Caudalie for making it.
SO A GOOD BUY FOR ME.
It is not an exfoliating cleanser since it will not have the ability to wash your face thoroughly and remove make-up and dirt. I recommend after washing your face with another cleanser using this. So that it'll be all nice and clean to whisk those dead skin cells away!
By the way, I love how Caudalie steers clear of artificial colorings, phenoxyethanol, mineral oils, and parabens. The texture is really runny. But if you rub the cream between your fingers, you undoubtedly sense the grain. I'm not sure what it is, but its not among those beads that are spherical. Odor is quite enjoyable.
This scrub is truly effective at exfoliating your skin but still gentle. In my opinion St. Ives scrubs are over the top rather causing damage, and those wimpy spherical microbeads aren't 100% effective...maybe for dry skin types. I believe Caudalie's buffing cream would be ideal for combination and oily skin types! Any scrub could cause damage if you exfoliate for so long, so use this for about a tiny tops, two to three times weekly.
after using this ,My skin seems, radiant and feels consistently smooth, and fresh. That means it did a great job sloughing the cells that are dead! Red marks irritated, although one time I exfoliated to get a great five minutes and my skin did get a bit blotchy. Additionally I wouldn't use a lot of pressure, I think it's the capacity if you press down too hard, to make microscopic tears in your skin.
This is the ideal exfoliate for my skin type. I have combination skin and search to find the best exfoliate I have found, causing my skin to go into panic mode and create more oil than before..thus blowing my out.
I like this buffing creme. I adore the caudalie line but it is so expensive. I took off a lippie for the cost in comparison to the very small bottle it comes in. Only use a pea size amount. It will leave a picture on your face as other reviewers have said. But, I simply use my cetaphil cleanser it works fine plus after I am done buffing. I enjoy the grains as they are perfectly round, not harsh and this product actually does give my skin a glow which is what I was searching for. HENCE THE CHEAP PRICE. You really require a good scrub to look after your face... I suppose I'll end up spending the cash to keep my face glowing with this specific product. I scrub my face for 1 minute in the shower and then wash it off with my cleanser..
I actually gave a chance to this one though, it broke me out only at a time. But I only got a few minor things here and there. After about 3 weeks, only using this product 2-3 times a week..my skin has never looked, or felt better. It can not dry out my face, and when done I feel like I've really cleaned up. It doesn't give me the 'tight' feeling, like many products do.
Surpisingly you don't need a lot, although I simply wish for the price it came in a bigger size. A dime size will do the trick.
I received this Caudalie Buffing Cream as a present about 6 months ago, and I have used it once a week since then. Before using this product, I used Clarins Orange extract exfoliator and Yes to Carrots facial exfoliator, so I will be comparing it against these two products for performance.
The Caudalie Buffing Cream comes in a 60ml white tube, in simple but elegant packaging typical of Caudalie, with a light but not overpowering scent. The active ingredients in the Cream are Jojoba microbeads, Grape oil and Honey. The blurb states that the product removes dead cells gently and stimulates cell renewal, leaving skin radiant, smooth, soft and clean.
How did I use it?
Well, I used a pea sized amount on my slightly wet skin, massaged the product in using circular motions as per instructions, and rinsed off with warm water. The first thing I noticed was that the exfoliating beads were very fine and not at all scratchy, as they are in the Yes To Carrots product. There are also lots of them - rather than a gel with a few beads in as in the Clarins exfoliator, this product is more like a thick paste packed with tiny gently cleansing beads.
How did it perform?
I would agree that the product is VERY gentle and effective- I would be happy to use it even on irritated skin which I wouldn't with the Clarins or Yes to Carrots products.
I felt that my skin was definitely more radiant after use and I felt the effects for around 4 days afterwards, so I think that using this product once or twice a week would be plenty, making it more economical than a lot of other scrubs.
The product also left my skin feeling very soft and not at all dried out or ultra-shiny as happened with the Yes to Carrots exfoliator.
Would I recommend it?
I would give this product a 9/10. As I don't have ultra sensitive skin I would have to say that for my combination skin I still prefer the Clarins exfoliator- it's lighter, easier to work with and left my skin even more radiant. However, this product comes a close second, and for sensitive skins it's really ideal. I would be happy to recommend this product, although the rather hefty 19 pounds average price tag means it's not a budget buy.
