I received this Caudalie Anti-Aging serum for lips and eyes about 6 months ago as a present from my lovely sister, who clearly felt I was looking older having become a mum! I believe she paid around 35 pounds for the product from a chemist in Covent Garden, and it comes in a 15 ml pump pot, so this is clearly not a cheap product.
The serum contains camomile, buckwheat wax and white lily for dark circles, as well as Caudalie's wonder ingredient, resveratrol from the grapevine, which is supposed to contain amazing anti-ageing properties. The product has been designed to target fine lines and wrinkles, and so is an ideal 'first' anti-aging product.
How does it feel? Well, it is an incredibly lightweight serum, and a little goes a long way, so half a pump is plenty for both eyes. It feels deliciously cool and refreshing when applied to around my eyes, and I can honestly say that I noticed that under-eye puffiness decreased quite dramatically when I used this in the morning. I also used it around my top lips, mostly to soothe them as I have quite sore and dry lips, but this product didn't really help and I found my normal Organic lipbalm to work much better.
The product has a light scent similar to many other Caudalie products, and it is refreshing and not at all overpowering.
I liked that the product contains good quality, natural ingredients and natural extracts, and it is so light, easily absorbed and soothing that I think it would definitely be suitable for sensitive skins.
However, on the anti-aging front I can't honestly say that I noticed any difference, even after using the product most mornings for a month. The effects were also temporary, if I forgot to use the product, the puffiness returned, so I can't honestly say that the product has made any longterm improvement to my puffiness, lines or dark circles. It's also an extra product to have to remember to put on the morning, and according to the instructions some lymph massage around the area is also recommended. Well....that's just not going to happen when I'm trying to get two little boys ready in the morning! Therefore, I have been using the product less and less not because I dislike it, but simply because it's not amazing enough for me to put in the extra effort to use it, and I tend to just stick on my moisturiser instead in the morning ( and I'm quite happy if I can find the time to do that!).
Would I spend 35 pounds of my own money on it? No, for the price, I don't think the results are good enough. But for my child-free Caudalie loving sister, who is getting a first few wrinkles and has the time to massage in the morning and put on 6 products, it might just make a good present.
